The rhythm of the heat (Il ritmo del calore) è la traccia che apre il quarto album omonimo di Peter Gabriel (conosciuto anche come Security), pubblicato l’8 settembre del 1982. La canzone è basata su un’esperienza fatta da Carl Gustav Jung, uno psichiatra, psicoanalista, antropologo, filosofo e accademico svizzero, una delle principali figure intellettuali del pensiero psicologico e psicoanalitico; mentre osservava un gruppo di percussionisti africani.
